Golf travel Wales; Golf as it should be

In Wales one can find almost 200 golf courses. The Welsh Golfing Union is one of the oldest golf unions in the world. It was founded in 1895. Wales is also popular for the Ryder Cup competition. Golf hotel and country club Celtic Manor in Newport will host the 2010 Ryder Cup. For this event the Welsh Golfing Union and the Welsh Ladies Golfing Union will organise many events for as well the amateur as the professional golfer. Participating golf courses are Tenby, Llandudno , Whitchurch (Cardiff), Monmouth, Vale OF Llangollen, Prestatyn , Creigiau , Borth & Ynyslas, St Deiniol , Padeswood & Buckley, Aberystwyth , Ashburnham, Aberdare, Wenvoe Castle, Royal Porthcawl , Cowny (Caernarvonshire), Pyle & Kenfig.
For the very first time Wales is also mentioned in the Golf Digest top 100 best golf courses outside the USA in 2005. Being mentioned in Golf Digest, one of the most famous golf magazines in the United States, is mostly indebted to the fact that the Ryder Cup is held in Wales in 2010. Welsh golf courses will be listed next to some other famous courses as St Andrew's in Scotland and Royal County Down in Northern Ireland. Golf Digest recommended particular Royal Porthcawl, Royal St David's and Aberdovey. Porthcawl is number 15 on the list. St David's, Harlech 67st and Aberdovey number 80.
