Golf Novo Sancti Petri Opens 3rd Course

In May the official inauguration of the new 18-hole-round of Golf Novo Sancti Petri took place. The golf complex which now offers three 18-hole-rounds, Mar y Pinos, Centro and the new one Campano, has now become one of the largest resorts in Spain.

The history of the first course of Chiclana started in 1985 when a group of British residents in San Andres urbanization, began the construction of the first nine holes, based on an original design by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Soon the course was officially recognized by the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation. It was then followed by the two courses of Golf Novo Sancti Petri in 1990. Only in 1992 the first hotel was opened right on the beach. The urbanisation now counts more than 15 hotels, all embedded harmoniously in the beautiful landscape on the shores of the Atlantic ocean.

During a simple act, including blessing by the Father Emilio, the new round was officially opened by the Mayor of Chiclana, Mr. Ernesto Marín, President of the Club, Mr. Jesus Martínez, together with his partner and President of Playa Sancti Petri SA, Mr. Juan Manuel Sanchez and Mrs. Sacha Jongenburger, President of Golf Novo Sancti Petri by cutting the symbolic ribbon proceeded by a great drive of honour on the first tee.

All proofed to be great connoisseurs of this beautiful sport and received the applause of more than 120 guests who had joined this opening of Golf Campano.

The opening acts were completed over the weekend with a tournament on Saturday for invited guests followed by the prize giving ceremony, cocktail and Gala Dinner in the clubhouse of Campano. On Sunday a second tournament also with cocktail and prize giving ceremony rounded up this beautiful sunny weekend.
