International golf event Curaçao

Twice a year the Blue Bay Golf Course is the playground of The Curacao Tourist Open. The nest event wille be December 30th, 2006. Tourists from all over the world, together with local players, compete to become ‘Curaçao Tourist Champions’. An international golf tournament that blends sportsmanship, culture and pleasure together to become the leading tourist event on the beautiful island of Curaçao.

Players from all over the world will join together in teams of 4. Because the teams consist of 2 tourists and 2 local players, it is a ideal way to get to know more about different cultures. The players have to work together in a 'Taxas-Scramble' Format to become 'Curaçao Tourist Champions'..
Every player drives the first shot. After this, the team choses the 'best ball'. All four players play on from this best ball's position. This counts for every shot, so untill the last putt.. This format is known for their low scores and good atmosphere, therefore a great way to enjoy a round of golf!!
Contenders are individually able to win beautifull prizes for hole-in-ones / neary's and off course for the longest-drive..'
There will be some surprizes during the tournament, this is what makes golf in the caribbean so special.
After the tournament the players will join together in the clubhouse for the award ceremony and happy-hours.
This event is an initiative of Papagayo Beach & Lounge Resort and Blue Bay Golf & Beach Resort. A great effort is made to establish a unique, relaxing and sportive atmosphere. Therefore we invite You to experience this special event in the heart of the Caribbean!!
