Golfing in France One of continental Europe’s first golf courses was built in France. Over the years hundreds of courses followed. Magnificent links courses can be found along the coast of Nord-Pas de Calais. Inland there are beautiful parkland and wooded courses. Hardelot near Touquet features two 18-hole courses: Golf des Dunes and Golf des Pins. The latter of the two is without doubt a beautiful and well-maintained parkland course. Golf Dunkerque is situated near Dunkirk. An affordable 18-hole golf course that will be expanded with nine holes in the fall of 2005.
Over the last fifteen years, many golf courses were built in the south of France, on the Cote d’Azur. Breathtaking courses in an undulating and hilly countryside. It is definitely worthwhile visiting golf course Opio Valbonnne. A beautiful 18-hole course set in the southern French countryside. For those who travel to Corsica, the golf course Sperone is a must. This golfcourse is located on the southern part of the island, near Bonifacio. White limestone cliffs, the blue sea below, you are not likely to forget Sperone. Especially in the south of France, golf can be played year round. Up north, it is possible as well, but in winter there are wintergreens and temporary tee boxes.
