Golfing in Ireland

Every Irishman will say they have the world's most beautiful golf courses. Whether this is true or not, one has to find out for oneself. It is without doubt, Ireland features outstanding links and parkland courses. Thirty percent of all natural links courses can be found in Ireland. It is for good reason major tournaments are played in Ireland. The courses are right away tempting. Not always easy, but it is a challenge to play an Irish golf course. Portmarnock, Royal Portrush and Doonbeg are just a few of the famous links golf courses. The Grange and Castle and Powerscourt are parkland golf courses worth mentioning. Ireland will host the Ryder Cup in 2006.
Ireland is often associated with rain. It cannot be denied there is a reasonable amount of downpour on the island. However, it is not as dramatic as it seems.
