Golfing in England
As well as in Scotland, people have been playing golf in England for ages. In the Middle Ages the Dutch and Scots already played golf. The English Royal Blackheath however, is considered the world's oldest club. Golf is a national sport in England, as the large number of public courses shows. Golf courses are everywhere. Hundreds of courses, varying from links courses along the coast to very attractive inland golf courses near London. The most beautiful golf courses are located south-west of London. The Sunningdale heath land golf course is generally considered one of England's most attractive golf courses. Just looking at the characteristic clubhouse is enough to realize an unforgettable day awaits you. In general golf can be played year round in England. The season runs from April to October. Reckon with wintergreens and temporary tee boxes in winter.

Stunning scenery and set on a peninsula. Reminds me of Turnberry. It is a must be option on an Isle of Man Golf Tour.

Played August 2007.
Course has lots of interesting holes, was very firm (given wet year) and almost played like a links course. Needed to be tidied up - in terms of course maintenance and general rubbish lying around (I know the golfers drop the litter but green keeping staff aren't picking it up either).
Played on hospitality ticket so cost not an issue but I believe at over £75.00 this is a little steep.
Having never played the Brabazon my colleague (who had) said this was a large step down in class.
