Kilmarnock, (Barassie) Golf Course ( Scotland ) |
A great links course in a great golf region. Phenomenal greens, some of the best in all of Scotland. Hard, fast, and true greens. Typical links fairways, undugulating and hard. A tough course on a good day. A brute when the wind kicks up. The course will test your accuracy, shot design, and ability. |

St Andrews, Duke's Course ( Scotland ) |
The attitude of the staff was dreadful. The Asst Pro Mr Ayden Roberts-Jones was totally unwelcoming, officious and unhelpful. The starter was not there when we arrived and then when we returned to the ninth hole, greeted us not with a good morning or anything like that just a "what is your tee time!". He then served our first fourball and shut up the hut and went before the rest of the party arrived. I have organised trips to that region of Scotland for six years. In that time we have played and been welcomed at Muirfield, the Old Course, Kingsbarns, Downfield, Panmure, Monifeith, Ladybank and North Berwick to name but a few. We have, as a matter of course had a drink and food in all of those places afterwards. It is the first time in my memory that not one of the party has wanted to eat in the clubhouse because of the attitude and behaviour of the staff. |

Windyhill Golf Course ( Scotland ) |
The front nine is tougher than the back nine.Holes six, seven, nine, and twelve are potential card breakers.Very quick and very good greens. The last two holes are easy par fours and you can finish well if you are not too tired after going up and down the slopes.Overall a good and fair test. |

Prestonfield Golf Course ( Scotland ) |
Set in the Shadow of Arthurs seat less than 2 miles from the city centre. Prestonfield provides both stunning views and a fair test of golf for all ablity levels. A gentle walk with some rolling hills, it is hard to believe the course is so close to the city centre, feeling almost like a country estate at many parts of the course. Well worth a visit if in the Edinburgh area. |
