Friendly staff at arrival and in the shop, a pyramid of balls on the range, wide fairways, beautiful bunkers, fast true greens, sauna in the lockerroom! Luxury and style...
Can I play again tomorrow?

I live on the Costa del Sol and have played every course on the coast and in my opinion this is the best of the best.
Its on a par with Valderrama, La Reserva and Finca Cortesin in terms of standard and quality of course. The fairways are like carpets, the greens fast and true and everything about the course is immaculate.
Fantastic practice facilities with quality titleist balls on the range and a selection of putting greens and chipping areas that are all in pristine condition.
What puts this course above the other premium courses is the overall feel of the place. Built in 1964 it has a mature charm about it and with a flat layout (unusual for the coast) it can easily be walked.
The fairways are quite wide so its does not feel like its a really difficult course although with the fast greens which are well protected by bunkers you have to be on your game to score well.

course design is a classic, wide fairways on most holes, and couple of lakes. Compared to those like Valderrama or La Reserva, this is a relax you will enjoy, despite it is a real championship course. If you plan to get some lunch after your round in clubhouse, do not be disappointed - they serve no food at 6pm on Saturdays. Fortunately there are other options in Sotogrande, but it was not the end of nice round as I would wish.

Once you enter the resort you realize that this is no ordinary course. Everything is top notch! Once you arrive the parking, a staff guy comes and takes your clubs to the caddymaster. Great starter info, together with comp water. From the first hole to the last, everything is on a very high maintenance level! Very true and quick greens. Not even a single weed you see on the course, and if there is one, you see staff taking it out. Great challenge, whith holes sided by trees, and some lakes. Despite most of fairways are wide, greens are very well protected. Par 5's are easy to reach in two if you are regularly long.
Great food on the clubhouse.
For sure one of the best courses played ever!

The service at this club is excellent again, it's what you expect when you pay a greenfee this much.
The practice is excellent with a wide and long driving range and some excellent options for short game.
The club is busy and there 4 balls all before us, and pace was very good, because we were a 2 ball and didn't have to wait too much.
The course is a great layout with generous fairways, but very well protected green with good bunkering. In my opinion it's one of the best in Continental Europe. Maintenance is also excellent.
The bar is good with fair prices for beer and club sandwich.
I really was happy to have visit this great place. A must in the Sotogrande/Marbella area.

One of the best courses in Europe probably.
Recently generously renovated RC Sotogrande presents itself as good as it gets.
The greens are great but very small so this course needs some skill. The typical cork-oaks which fringe the holes can prove costly for wayward shots, so this is not a course to mindlessly overpower.
Thinking your way around the track will reward you with pars and birdies.
The Par5s are all relatively long so even skilled players will need two very good shots to get there let alone hit these small greens from afar.
Compared to Valderrama or San Roque the greens in Sotogrande are bit easier to read if you are not used to the Costa del Sol greens.
Beautifully designed holes are difficult to point out as almost all of them qualify.
There are hardly any negatives on this fantastic course. Maybe #7 which has caught me off guard more than once. A difficult teeshot even if executed perfectly at best leaves you with a wedge of a sloping lie to a small green guarded by a water hazard and a couple of bunkers. Survive 7 and the teeshot on 9 and chances are you have scored well on the front.
The back9 offer a few birdie opportunities but again the strategy on this course needs some thinking if you want to get away with a decent score.
For me one of the great layouts one can play every day for two weeks straight and still enjoy every single shot.
Great course to walk without buggy too, BUT you'll need some time. Usually packed with slow 4somes.
For serious golf nuts the renovation includes a new driving range and one of the best short games facilities I have ever seen. Fun for hours guaranteed!

Lovely golf course to play that is challenging without killing you. Very close to Valderama so if you fancy treating yourself playing both courses is special. Good practise facilities and very nice flow to the course. Greens were in excellent condition.

after renovation currently best course in the sotogrande area. It is more in balance than it's famous brother Valderrama, no weak holes. Great renovation by Kyle Philips. Played from white tees and the 382m par 7th might be the best par 4 I've ever played. Looks like a hole straight from Augusta. It is also a bit flatter than surrounding courses which I prefer, easy to walk.
