Hole 4: A tough nut to crack

The Links at Divi Aruba is the islands second golf course, located near Druif Beach. The Dutch prince Pieter Christiaan and Prince Albert of Monaco opened this course at the end of 2004. This 9-hole course is cleverly built around the Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort. At present, a lot of work is being done to complete the last part of the resort. The architects Litten & Viola designed the course.
The Links at Divi Aruba is a very challenging golf course. The par 4 and par 5 holes appear somewhat short at first sight, but many golfers underestimate these holes. Water hazards come into play on six holes. For instance hole 4, a tricky par 5, just has a little too much water on the right and out of bounds on the left. Many golfers underrate this hole the first time. Negotiating your tee shot is quite a challenge. Which club to select for your drive? A long iron or a wood? And what about that wind! Even though The Links at Divi is not situated close to the ocean, there is usually a strong wind. The greens have a nap here as well. Hole 9 really is something to round off with. The green is located on an island and, whether you want to or not, you will have to cross the water. Once the terrace and restaurant are finished, a large audience will be watching the golfers on this hole.
The restaurant is supposed to become Aruba’s hot spot. Alex Nieuwmeyer, managing director of Aruba’s and Bonaire’s Divi Resorts, managed to sign up top-ranking Dutch chefs.
The Links at Divi Aruba is a challenging 9-hole course with extensive golf training facilities including a driving range, a chipping area and a practice bunker. In addition, there are professional instructors available for those wishing to improve their game under professional guidance. The Video Swing Analysis Station is available for players who would like to work on their swing.
Green fee prices –especially for a 9-hole course- are quite steep. On the other hand, you get excellent service in return. The people are friendly and always ready to help. There are excellent refreshment stalls on the course. And, last but not least, those great chilled towels when you have finished playing.

Nice 9 holes golf course with an excelent bar and restaurant. (just new). Although it is 9 holes and not very long, it somethimes can be very difficult to play when your bal has hit the rough. This is so thick and difficult, it looks like the designes thought we shall teach thegolfers a lesson in playing out of the rough. Considering the 9 holes and the lenght, we thought the green fees rather high.
