19e hole

The course has far too many blind tee shots in my opinion. Depending on how far you hit it, the 2nd, the 5th, the 8th, the 12th, and the 14th will all leave you having to hope your ball is ok instead of knowing. Having said that, there are some great holes out there, particularly the 3rd, the 6th and the 18th. The drainage is the best I've seen anywhere, the fairways are like links, and the greens are beautiful. Its still maturing, and has onvious potential as a golf course, but Dunmurry Springs remains very much a case of taking the good with the bad design.

Beautifully maintained course, very friendly people running it, but some very poorly designed holes. The 6th stands out for me as possibly the biggest mickey mouse hole in the country. A reasonably short par 5, it has no fairway with OB all the way down the right and an almost obtuse dogleg. Bail out left and you're in fescue grass up to your neck. Hit it straight and you're left with a completely blind lay up, hitting across the fairway with no idea where to aim and more fescue encroaching onto the fairway. And thats assuming someone hasn't hit your ball first, as it runs opposite the severly difficult 8th. Three of my friends and I all lost at least one ball on this hole and none of us felt as if we'd missed a shot. The highest handicap amongst us was 6.
