on 1 November 2006 Lufthansa is introducing new excess baggage fees for sport baggage on routes with Weight Concept. The Piece Concept fees remain unchanged.
From that date, sport baggage will be divided into three categories: small, medium, large. The most common sport baggage items and the fees applying to them are listed below. All baggage items that are not listed will be charged according to their weight and/or size in the respective category.
Sport baggage is not part of the free baggage allowance, and in each case will be charged the respective fee.
Golf equipment
Fees for short- and medium-haul routes with Weight Concept: € 20
Fees for long-haul routes with Weight Concept: € 40
Fees for long-haul routes with Piece Concept 50% of the excess baggage fee.
